Football Recap: Republic Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Republic had won five straight road games dating back to last season and Owen Klier did his part to make it six on Friday. The Tigers breezed past the Kickapoo Chiefs to the tune of 54-7 with plenty of help from Klier, who rushed for 169 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also caught one touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Republic's record now sits at 3-1. As for Kickapoo, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Republic and Kickapoo will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Tigers will take on rival Joplin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Kickapoo is set to challenge their familiar foe Glendale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
