Softball Recap: Schalick Has No Trouble Against Penns Grove

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Schalick). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Penns Grove Red Devils a 21-0 shutout on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cougars with their most commanding win of the season.

The win (which was Schalick's third in a row) raised their record to 4-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.7 runs over those games. As for Penns Grove, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, Schalick will take on West Deptford at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Penns Grove, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 26-1 defeat against Overbrook on the 16th.
