Volleyball Recap: Mountain Heritage Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Mountain Heritage was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Avery County Vikings. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 back in September.

The final score came out to 25-15, 21-25, 25-23, 25-23.

Mountain Heritage's offense was headlined by Khloe Honeycutt and Lacie Weatherman, who picked up nine kills apiece. They got some help from Halle Alexander and her 24 assists.

Hallie Johnson had an outrageously good game for Avery County as she had 27 assists and 12 digs. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Holtsclaw, who had 21 digs.

Mountain Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Avery County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Mountain Heritage didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Mitchell on the 6th. As for Avery County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Hendersonville on the 7th.
