Basketball Preview: New York Military Academy Knights vs. St. Luke's Storm
The New York Military Academy Knights will head out on the road to square off against the St. Luke's Storm at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New York Military Academy will be strutting in after a victory while the Storm will be coming in after a loss.
After only nine points in their last contest, New York Military Academy made sure to put some points up on the board against the Martlets back in December of 2023. New York Military Academy was the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over the Martlets.
Meanwhile, St. Luke's pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Frederick Gunn. St. Luke's loss continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
Despite the defeat, St. Luke's saw an underclassman step up: Kaelon Commodore scored 18 points along with six assists. Bailey Finn was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
New York Military Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for St. Luke's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.
