Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Oak Grove came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-2 margin over the Asheboro Blue Comets. With that victory, the Grizzlies brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.

Oak Grove got a great performance from Seth Yarbrough as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. Yarbrough has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aidan Murphy, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Grayson Messer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Oak Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Oak Grove's record is now 7-4. As for Asheboro, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
