New Orleans High School Football Rankings

Who's up and who's down

There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. There's a new number one at the head of the rankings as well as a new caboose.

Points Galore

Hahnville not only got the result it was looking for last game, but the team outscored its opponent Central Lafourche in every quarter. The final score between Hahnville and Central Lafourche was a 62 - 27 blowout in Hahnville's favor. Hahnville made sure to walk the walk to justify being talked up as the big favorite. The combined 89-point effort made this the highest-scoring game in the power rankings for the week.

This Week's Top Game

On paper, the match between De La Salle (1st in the power rankings) and St. Charles Catholic (10th) looked as though it might be one of the more compelling ones, but things did not play out that way on the field. De La Salle kept its opponent St. Charles Catholic off the scoreboard entirely, winning the match 28 - 0. De La Salle received a modest one-position bump in the power rankings afterwards; St. Charles Catholic stayed put at 10th.

Upcoming Drama

The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between John Curtis Christian (1st in the state) and Archbishop Shaw (156th). The last time they met, John Curtis Christian walked away with a 34 - 20 win. Will it come out on top again? We'll soon find out.
