Baseball Game Preview: Clark Chargers vs. Pahrump Valley Trojans

The Clark Chargers will head out to challenge the Pahrump Valley Trojans at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Clark is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Clark's offense. They fell 5-0 to Coronado on Tuesday. The Chargers haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Clark saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryland Gregorich, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Pahrump Valley waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against the Bulls by a score of 8-3.

Tony Whitney and Aidyn Cratty made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Whitney pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Cratty struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Whitney scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances, while Cratty went 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Vinny Whitney, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

Pahrump Valley's record is now 16-5-1. As for Clark, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Clark was able to grind out a solid victory over Pahrump Valley when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 8-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
