Providence came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Buckley Griffins 3-0. While the Pioneers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-19, 26-24.

Providence's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Buckley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season.

Providence will face off against Holy Martyrs Armenian at 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Buckley, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Le Lycee at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th.
