Baseball Recap: Fleming County Triumphs

Fleming County's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with a 10-6 win over the Garrard County Golden Lions. The high-scoring effort was just what the Panthers needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Jett Martin was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

In other batting news, Fleming County let Preston Cropper and Tyler Dells run wild. Cropper went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Dells went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Dells has posted since back in April.

Fleming County was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garrard County only posted a batting average of .179.

Fleming County now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Garrard County, their defeat was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-16.

Looking ahead, Fleming County will square off against Powell County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Garrard County, they will take on Rockcastle County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
