Baseball Game Preview: Prairie View Buffalos vs. Santa Fe Trail Chargers

Prairie View hasn't had much luck against Santa Fe Trail recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Prairie View is taking a road trip to face off against Santa Fe Trail at 4:30 p.m. Prairie View's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Santa Fe Trail's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Prairie View is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Wellsville by a score of 4-3 on Thursday. The Buffalos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe Trail was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 12-8 to Louisburg.

Alex Strother was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter French, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Santa Fe Trail's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Prairie View, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2-2.

Prairie View might still be hurting after the 11-2 defeat they got from Santa Fe Trail when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can Prairie View avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
