Softball Recap: Kiel Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sheboygan Falls on Monday, Kiel came back down to earth. The Raiders took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the New Holstein Huskies on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Kiel saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ally Endries, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Kiel's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for New Holstein, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Kiel will face off against Brillion at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so the Raiders' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for New Holstein, they will square off against Chilton at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Huskies' favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Tigers have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
