Southmont can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They walked away with a 14-9 win over the Crawfordsville Athenians. This was a revenge game for the Mounties: when they faced off against the Athenians on Tuesday, they had to take a 9-6 defeat.

Caden Miller was excellent, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Eden Hernandez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Southmont kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Southmont's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-10. As for Crawfordsville, their loss dropped their record down to 5-7-1.

Coming up, Southmont is taking a road trip to square off against Danville at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Crawfordsville, they will be playing at home against Benton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
