Soccer Game Preview: Dougherty vs. Southland Academy

The Dougherty Trojans will challenge the Southland Academy Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dougherty has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 26 goals over their last three matchups.

Dougherty's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. Everything went their way against Monroe as they made off with a 10-0 win. Dougherty haven't had any issues with Monroe recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten goals the game before, Southland Academy was a bit more limited in their contest last Tuesday. They came up short against Sherwood Christian Academy, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Southland Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 386th, while Sherwood Christian Academy are ranked 172nd).

Southland Academy now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Dougherty, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Dougherty got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February against Southland Academy by a conclusive 10-2 score. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
