Baseball Game Preview: Russell County Warriors vs. St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings

The Russell County Warriors will face off against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Russell County came up short against Harris County and fell 6-3. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Shane Otipoby was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 1-for-4. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024.

Meanwhile, St. Anne-Pacelli came up short against First Presbyterian Day on Friday, falling 14-4.

St. Anne-Pacelli saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Merrick Miller, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

St. Anne-Pacelli's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Russell County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
