Volleyball Game Preview: Homer-Center Wildcats vs. West Shamokin Wolves + How To Watch

Homer-Center is 1-9 against West Shamokin since October of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wildcats will challenge the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Homer-Center comes in on five and West Shamokin on 13.

It was a proper cat-fight when Homer-Center took on River Valley on Monday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 3-1.

Homer-Center had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 13-25, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Homer-Center to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Rado, who had 15 digs, 11 kills, and five blocks. That's the most digs Rado has posted over her last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Ashlyn Yount, who had seven digs and two aces.

Homer-Center was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, West Shamokin made easy work of Marion Center on Monday and carried off a 3-0 win.

West Shamokin never let Marion Center on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-21, 25-22.

West Shamokin's record is now 14-1-1. As for Homer-Center, they now have a winning record of 10-9-1.

Homer-Center might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from West Shamokin in their previous matchup back in September. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
