Baseball Recap: Reedley Gets the Win

Reedley won the last time they faced Exeter and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Pirates skirted past the Monarchs 3-1.

Reedley's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braden Ortiz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Ortiz has posted since back in March.

Reedley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Reedley's victory bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Exeter, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-9 record this season.

Reedley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Exeter: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
