Baseball Game Preview: Norwich Free Academy Wildcats vs. East Lyme Vikings

Norwich Free Academy hasn't had much luck against East Lyme recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Norwich Free Academy 3.3, East Lyme 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Norwich Free Academy will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Immaculate on Saturday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 12-2 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, East Lyme faced South Windsor in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Vikings fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 5-4. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

East Lyme saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrison Biggs, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Norwich Free Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for East Lyme, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
