Softball Recap: E.O. Smith/Tolland's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

E.O. Smith/Tolland extended their winning streak to four on Thursday, bumping their season record up to 6-1 in the process. They never let the Enfield Eagles get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. For the Bucks, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

As for Enfield, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 9-3. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly three runs.

For Enfield's part, Payten Stebbins spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks. Stebbins has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Coming up, E.O. Smith/Tolland will host Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Enfield, they will venture away from home to take on Glastonbury at 3:45 p.m. on Friday.
