Belton-Honea Path is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Dixie on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Bears with their most commanding win of the season.
Madox Vipperman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Colby Bates was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Jakari Anderson was another key player, earning three runs and one stolen base.
Belton-Honea Path always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Easley's offense. They fell just short of Travelers Rest by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Green Wave's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Belton-Honea Path's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Easley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season.
