Christ the King hadn't done well against Holy Trinity recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Gladiators narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Tigers 2-1. This was a revenge game for the Gladiators: when they faced off against the Tigers back in April, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

Christ the King had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 26-28, 25-17, 25-17.

The victory made it two in a row for Christ the King and bumps their season record up to 4-10. As for Holy Trinity, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Christ the King is set to face off against their familiar foe Cristo Rey Jesuit at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Holy Trinity will challenge rival Northtown at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
