Basketball Recap: Fountain Central Comes Up Short

If Fountain Central was riding high fresh off their 51-22 takedown of Attica last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Fountain Central Mustangs fell 43-30 to the Hagerstown Tigers on Saturday.

Kaagen Kendall was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 14 on his way to 20 points and six rebounds for Hagerstown. With that strong performance, Kendall is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Jaykob Troutwine was another key player, putting up seven points.

Fountain Central has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Hagerstown, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Fountain Central will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Clinton Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on January 10, 2025. As for Hagerstown, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 85-55 defeat against Sheridan on the 28th.
