Volleyball Game Preview: Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes vs. Elmwood Trojans + How To Watch

Abingdon/Avon is 0-7 against Elmwood since October of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Tornadoes will face off against the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Abingdon/Avon and Havana, and Havana kept the tradition alive. The Tornadoes fell just short of the Ducks by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. While the Tornadoes didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Ducks 25-19 in the first set.

Abingdon/Avon started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Meanwhile, Elmwood came up short against Wethersfield on Thursday and fell 2-0.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Wethersfield scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19.

Abingdon/Avon's loss dropped their record down to 6-28. As for Elmwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-11.

Abingdon/Avon couldn't quite get it done against Elmwood in their previous meeting back in September as they fell 2-0. Can the Tornadoes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
