Recap: Tom Bean Tomcats vs. Wolfe City Wolves

Even though the Tom Bean Tomcats have not done well against the Wolfe City Wolves recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Tom Bean came out on top against Wolfe City by a score of 48-36. The win was familiar territory for Tom Bean who now have three in a row.

Tom Bean found their leader in underclassman Maguire Poole, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten steals. Another player making a difference was Branson Ashlock, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.

Wolfe City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cavan Armstrong, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds, and Noah Adams who scored eight points along with two blocks. Adams has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. Jarrett Tisdale was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Tom Bean is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-11 record this season. As for Wolfe City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 16 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-22 record this season.

Tom Bean will head out on the road to face off against Honey Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Honey Grove is coming into the matchup with nine straight victories at home, meaning Tom Bean will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. Wolfe City will take on Trenton at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Wolfe City is facing Trenton at the right time seeing as Trenton is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
