Softball Recap: Casa Grande Sets Scoring Season-High Against Napa

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Casa Grande). Everything went their way against the Napa Grizzlies on Monday as they made off with an 18-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Gauchos in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won seven in a row.

Casa Grande got a massive performance out of Lucy Da Roza, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave Da Roza a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Ketchu, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Casa Grande was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Casa Grande's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Napa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
