Softball Recap: Sumter Takes a Loss

Sumter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 3-2 to the Blythewood Bengals, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gamecocks of the 11-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

Sumter's record is now 6-10. As for Blythewood, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

While Sumter had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
