Basketball Game Preview: Meadowdale Lions vs. Dunbar Wolverines

Meadowdale is 2-8 against Dunbar since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Meadowdale Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Dunbar Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. Dunbar took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Meadowdale, who comes in off a win.

Meadowdale took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 60-47 victory over Spring Valley Academy.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Dunbar's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chaminade Julienne Catholic.

Meadowdale's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for Dunbar, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Meadowdale came up short against Dunbar when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 68-60. Can Meadowdale avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
