Ben Davis' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jashawn Ladd, who went 7 of 13 to rack up 19 points and three steals. Ladd is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tavion Williams, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards.
Meanwhile, Lawrence North hadn't done well against Carmel recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Everything went Lawrence North's way against Carmel as Lawrence North made off with a 62-37 win. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.
Ben Davis better keep an eye on Brennan Miller. He was instrumental in Lawrence North's win, shooting 5-for-6 from deep and dropping a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds. What's more, Miller also posted a 83% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in November of 2024. Kai McGrew was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.
Lawrence North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 17 consecutive matches.
Ben Davis pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.4 points over those games. As for Lawrence North, their win bumped their record up to 14-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ben Davis has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 23.8 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Lawrence North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.8 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Ben Davis didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lawrence North in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 59-55 victory. Does Ben Davis have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lawrence North turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
