Basketball Recap: Jasmine Hall's Big Game Can't Quite Lead BASIS Flagstaff over Superior

BASIS Flagstaff was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 20-18 heartbreaker at the hands of the Superior Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Yetis have suffered since November 20, 2024.

Several Yetis players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasmine Hall, who posted three points and five steals. Hall is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Danica Elliot also deserves some recognition as she scored her first point of the season.

Leading Superior to victory were Lilianna Fritz and Faith Denogean. Fritz earned seven points in addition to nine boards and eight steals, while Denogean put up no points along with 11 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Fritz a new career-high in steals.

BASIS Flagstaff's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Superior, they moved to 3-15 with that victory, which also ended their 11-game losing streak.

As of now, neither BASIS Flagstaff nor Superior have any future games scheduled.
