Soccer Game Preview: Pine Ridge vs. Wekiva

The Pine Ridge Panthers will take on the Wekiva Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Pine Ridge's tournament run continued when they took on Mainland on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Pine Ridge who was credited with the victory. Pine Ridge got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Mainland's two. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Wekiva is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Foundation Academy, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Lions are ranked 173rd).

Pine Ridge's win bumped their record up to 14-5-1. As for Wekiva, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.
