Soccer Game Preview: Pickens vs. Palmetto

The Pickens Blue Flame are taking a road trip to square off against the Palmetto Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

While Pickens didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-11-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Greer with a sharp 7-1 win on Thursday. It was an even better day for Adelyn Jewell as she scored three goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Palmetto kept a clean sheet against Pendleton on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 5-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The victory continues a trend for Palmetto in their matchups with Pendleton: they've now won five in a row.

Palmetto's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Pickens, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Pickens might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Palmetto in their previous matchup back in April of 2019. Can the Blue Flame avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
