Softball Recap: Lorain Has No Trouble Against Clearview

Lorain barely beat Clearview the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Titans put the hurt on the Clippers with a sharp 19-6 victory on Saturday. Considering the Titans have won four contests by more than ten runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Kyraa Swiger, who scored three runs and stole seven bases while going 3-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alonna Coleman, who scored two runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-3.

Lorain always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .593 or higher in four consecutive games.

Lorain is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Clearview, they dropped their record down to 1-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lorain will square off against Garfield Heights at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Clearview, they will challenge Brookside at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Clippers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cardinals have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
