Football Recap: Saucon Valley Takes a Loss

After a string of four wins, Saucon Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by the Southern Lehigh Spartans 56-20. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 51-25 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Saucon Valley saw an underclassman step up: freshman Thomas Cahill picked up 179 receiving yards and three scores. The Panthers are 3-1 when Cahill posts 80 or more receiving yards, but 2-3 otherwise.

Saucon Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Southern Lehigh, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0.

Coming up, Saucon Valley will host Northern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern Lehigh, they will venture away from home to challenge Northwestern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Spartans 13.1, the Tigers 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
