Baseball Recap: Dixon Drops Season-High Score on Sutter

Dixon extended their losing streak to eight on Friday, dropping their season record down to 4-15-1 in the process. They came up short against the Sutter Huskies, falling 17-11. On the bright side, the 11- run effort marked the Rams' highest-scoring game to date.

Erick Siegmund was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Vicente Guzman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Sutter, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.

On Sutter's side, Ezra Hilleary was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Hilleary has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jonny Munger, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixon will venture away from home to face off against El Camino at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.82 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Sutter, they will head out on the road to take on Natomas at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. The Huskies are facing the Nighthawks at the right time seeing as the Nighthawks are stuck on an 18-game losing streak.
