Basketball Recap: Ethan Hao's Big Game Can't Quite Lead the Webb Schools over Sierra Vista

After flying high against Hesperia Christian two weeks ago, The Webb Schools came back down to earth. The Webb Schools Gauls fell to the Sierra Vista Dons 64-60. The Gauls have struggled against the Dons recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

The Webb Schools lost on Thursday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ethan Hao, who went 5 of 9 en route to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josef Sharifi, who went 6 for 11 on his way to 14 points and five boards.

Sierra Vista was led to victory by Aaron Buna and Peter Albir. Buna went 10 of 19 on his way to 26 points and six steals, while Albir dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. Dario De La Fuente-Servin was another key player, putting up four points, to go along with eight assists and six boards.

The Webb Schools' defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Sierra Vista, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

The Webb Schools wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 58-39 victory against Mesa Grande Academy on the 6th. As for Sierra Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-57 loss against Polytechnic on the 6th.
