Basketball Game Preview: Lincoln Lions vs. Smithfield Sentinels

The Lincoln Lions will head out to take on the Smithfield Sentinels at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lincoln is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Barrington, who was ranked 12th at the time (Lincoln was ranked 11th). Lincoln took a 62-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Barrington on Tuesday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Smithfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were beaten by La Salle Academy 71-39.

Smithfield's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Lincoln, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6.
