Baseball Recap: Glenbard North Comes Up Short

Glenbard North had lost seven straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 9-13 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Lake Park Lancers by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

As for Lake Park, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-10. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

For Lake Park's part, they got a great performance from Anrhony Durava as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Durava has posted over his last four contests.

On the hitting side, Gavin O'Neil was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. Robert Munaco was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

While Glenbard North had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
