Preview: Searcy vs. Benton

Benton may have come out ahead in their last game, but they shouldn't get too cocky given who is up next. They will go up against Searcy in continuing playoff action on Saturday. Both of these red-hot teams will try to put the other on ice to keep their winning streaks alive.

Benton earned some more postseason success in their matchup last week. Everything went their way against West Memphis as they made off with a 63-35 win.

Meanwhile, Searcy ran circles around Greenwood, and the extra yardage (754 yards vs. 460.10 yards) paid off. Searcy walked away with a 50-38 victory. Bryce Dixon went supernova for the Lions as he passed for 449 yards and five TDs. Dixon has now produced at least one touchdown in the past 12 games.

Searcy's defense was a presence as well, and it made life painful for LD Richmond and got past Greenwood's offensive line for a total of four sacks. It was a group effort with four picking up one sack apiece.

With both teams having displayed their playoff mettle, spectators can expect a high-quality contest. Keep track of this and all the high school football postseason action on MaxPreps.com.
