Baseball Recap: Bogue Chitto Takes a Loss

Bogue Chitto and Stringer squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Bogue Chitto had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Bobcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Alex Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Bogue Chitto dropped their record down to 17-14-1 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Stringer, the win got them back to even at 17-17.

Bogue Chitto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Stringer, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Taylorsville at 6:00 p.m. The Tartars will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
