Basketball Recap: York Comes Up Short

York was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Grafton Clippers, falling 83-38. The Falcons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-22.

Despite the loss, York still got an impressive performance from Sarah Witt, who posted ten points along with four steals and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Witt a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kenlee Washington, who scored 13 points and three steals.

Leading Grafton to victory were Taylor Ragland and Mya Napoleoni. Ragland dropped a double-double on 34 points and 13 boards, while Napoleoni dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ragland has scored at least a third of Grafton's points. Lexi Collins was another key player, putting up ten points.

York's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Grafton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

York has already played their next match, a 54-28 defeat against Smithfield on the 16th. As for Grafton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-34 win against Jamestown on the 16th.
