Softball Recap: Henderson Warriors vs. Downingtown East Cougars

Henderson had lost 17 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-17 to make it 18. They lost 17-2 to the Downingtown East Cougars. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cougars this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 back in March.

As for Downingtown East, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for them this season.

For Downingtown East's part, the team relied heavily on Madison Baroni, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four runs gave Baroni a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucia Giuliano, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
