Basketball Recap: Wallkill Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

If Valley Central wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wallkill, they should've done a better job of containing Zoe Mesuch. The Wallkill Panthers came out on top against the Valley Central Vikings by a score of 53-42 on Tuesday thanks in part to Mesuch, who shot 42% from the field on her way to 19 points along with seven boards and four steals. That makes it 21 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Wallkill's points.

Aoife Brady also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in rebounds (12).

Wallkill's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-9. As for Valley Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Wallkill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 58-42 win against Cornwall Central on the 6th. Valley Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
