Basketball Recap: Clayton Atkinson Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Clinton Central

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Tri-County's strategy against Clinton Central on Saturday. The Tri-County Cavaliers put the hurt on the Clinton Central Bulldogs with a sharp 51-27 win. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 22 points or more this season.

Tri-County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Clayton Atkinson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Trey Foster was another key player, putting up nine points.

They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.7 points. As for Clinton Central, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-11.

Tri-County will square off against Frontier at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Frontier knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Tri-County likes a good challenge. Clinton Central has already played their next game (against Traders Point Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
