Football Preview: Hebbronville Longhorns vs. Odem Owls
The Hebbronville Longhorns will venture away from home to face off against the Odem Owls at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hebbronville, yet to win a game, are hoping to taste some of the success that has characterized Odem's (thus far) undefeated season.
Last Friday, Hebbronville had to suffer through a 34-6 loss at the hands of Tuloso-Midway. While losing is never fun, the Longhorns can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1163rd, while the Warriors & Cherokees are ranked 574th).

Hebbronville's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Odem, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Hebbronville couldn't quite finish off Odem when the teams last played back in October of 2023 and fell 29-27. Thankfully for Hebbronville, Josh Chavira (who rushed for 23 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 100 yards and a touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
