Basketball Recap: Tanner Takes a Loss

Tanner was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 58-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lexington Golden Bears. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 375th, while the Golden Bears are ranked 126th).

Despite the loss, Tanner still got an impressive performance from Aubrey Oliver, who went 9 of 12 en route to 24 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The dominant performance gave Oliver a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khloe Jones, who posted four points.

Tanner's defeat dropped their record down to 3-24. As for Lexington, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-9.

Tanner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lexington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 75-35 loss against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy on the 3rd.
