Basketball Game Preview: North Creek Jaguars vs. Renton Red Hawks

The North Creek Jaguars will venture away from home to face off against the Renton Red Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Creek will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

North Creek will head into Wednesday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by 31) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Skyline 34-32. The win almost wasn't to be: the Jaguars were down 29-15 in the third quarter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Creek to victory, but perhaps none more so than Madison McGill, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds. McGill continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Seirat Bhullar, who posted ten points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Meanwhile, Renton took a blow against Redmond on Wednesday, falling 75-40. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Mustangs are ranked 24th).

North Creek pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Renton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-10.

Everything came up roses for North Creek against Renton when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured an 83-28 win. In that game, North Creek amassed a halftime lead of 55-18, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
