Basketball Recap: Bowie Bears vs. Americas Trail Blazers
Bowie lost to Americas on December 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Bears were beaten by the Trail Blazers 60-31. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1121st, while the Trail Blazers are ranked 412th).
Bowie's loss came despite strong showings from Johan Comacho and Cedric Corralez. Comacho shot 71% from the field on his way to 15 points, while Corralez posted eight points.
Ethan Salinas had an outrageously good game for Americas as he went 7-for-8 to rack up 15 points along with seven boards and three steals. What's more, Salinas also posted an 88% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in February. Another player making a difference was Amiel Morales, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 12 points and five rebounds.
Bowie's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Americas, their victory bumped their record up to 12-8.
Bowie has already played their next contest, an 80-55 loss against Chapin on the 6th. As for Americas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-34 defeat against El Dorado on the 31st.
