Basketball Game Preview: KIPP Legacy Lions vs. Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats

The KIPP Legacy Lions will head out on the road to take on Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. KIPP Legacy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, KIPP Legacy earned a 71-59 victory over Horizon Christian.

KIPP Legacy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Mapp, who posted 18 points. The match was Mapp's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jahmere Evans, who earned 14 points.

Meanwhile, Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 70-57 to HEA Firebirds HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 182nd in Indiana, while HEA Firebirds HomeSchool is ranked 50th in Michigan).

KIPP Legacy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.3 points per game. As for Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

KIPP Legacy might still be hurting after the 76-52 defeat they got from Indianapolis HomeSchool Wildcats in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can KIPP Legacy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
