Basketball Recap: Heston Academy Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Heston Academy entered their contest against Oscoda on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Heston Academy Patriots took a 50-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oscoda Owls. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Owls from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Heston Academy's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3. As for Oscoda, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heston Academy will face off against Whittemore-Prescott at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Heston Academy is facing Whittemore-Prescott at the right time seeing as Whittemore-Prescott is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Oscoda has already played their next match (against Houghton Lake), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
