Basketball Game Preview: Vernonia Loggers vs. Gaston Greyhounds

Vernonia is on a three-game streak of home losses, Gaston an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The Vernonia Loggers will host the Gaston Greyhounds at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Vernonia lost 68-42 to Nestucca on Tuesday.

Gaston might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 88-19 to Portland Christian, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Royals are ranked 15th).

Vernonia's defeat dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Gaston, their loss dropped their record down to 1-16.
