Basketball Recap: Newton HomeSchool Takes a Loss

Newton HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Flint Hills Christian Warriors. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 34-30.

When it comes to explaining why Newton HomeSchool lost, don't look at Rachel Graham. Despite the final result, she en route to 26 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. Those 26 points gave Graham a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Krysten Schumm, who posted five points and six boards.

Newton HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Flint Hills Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-12 record this season.

Newton HomeSchool does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flint Hills Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 30-29 defeat against Heritage Christian on the 22nd.
